IOBC-NRS Sponsors Insect Pathology Short Course at Cornell
The Insect Pathology Short Course will be held on the campus of Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, June 4-9, 2023. The course is intended for students at the graduate level and researchers at any level who are interested in learning about insect pathogens. Each pathogen group will be covered in a lecture format using handouts and PowerPoint presentations. Participants will learn diagnostic techniques for each pathogen group in hands-on laboratory sessions using live material (hosts and pathogens), and archived material (slides). 2023 FAO Publishes Guidance on Sustainable Use and Conservation of Biocontrol Agents
Action on the part of a range of stakeholders, including national governments and intergovernmental bodies, is urgently needed to address the numerous knowledge gaps, resource limitations and legal, policy and institutional weaknesses that constrain the development of biological control and to tackle the numerous threats facing biocontrol agents.
